Or more accurately: From Sandgate to Brighton is 1.5 miles, From Brighton to Sandgate is 1.5 miles.

There was a mother goose rhyme in my head as I walked the road between my hotel and a Jonas Peterson workshop I attended in Brisbane recently. I was also conjuring up Robert Adams’ Summer Nights, Walking and an odd assortment of Todd Hido imagery.  These artist’s works always seem to follow me about, and in the not quite balmy night (the Melbourne winter was far far away) and under threatening morning skies I walked up and down Flinders Parade, shooting west and then east. Landscapes are not quite my thing, but I was there and I had a camera in my hand. Such a simple thing to do.
